Michel Tuffery is an acclaimed printmaker, painter and sculptor who was made Member of the New Zealand Merit of Order in the Queens Honours List for Services to the Arts in 2008. A New Zealand based artist of Samoan, Rarotongan and Tahitian heritage, Tuffery’s use of motifs and symbols found in Samoan art forms, such as the lizard, tattoo and weaving patterns found in mats, combined with Palagi imagery, create a cross-cultural interaction with art and life. Tuffery’s art features in major public and private collections throughout the world.
