Description
Very little is known about artist Thomas Merrett. In Wise's Post Office Directory of 1883-84 he is listed as a Wanganui artist. He then appears in the Directory as a Wellington artist and drawing teacher from 1885-88.
There are three scenes of Wellington harbour and surrounds by Merrett in our City Art Collection, painted between 1891 and 1893.
