Description
Areez Katki weaves his identity as a queer male from a conservative, migrant background into his textile, painting, and sculptural works. His practice addresses the social constructs of spirituality, postcolonial identity, and sexuality. Katki migrated from Bombay, India and studied at the University of Auckland. He lives in Wellington and has shown at Enjoy Gallery. He has also shown in Christchurch at The National and Auckland at RM and Tim Melville galleries.
