Description
Angela Lane takes her cue from miniaturist landscape paintings of late 15th and early 16th century Dutch painting. The paintings inspiring her art are “about men falling out with their God”. Her own works are about humanity falling out with their planet. Phenomenon is from a series of paintings of unusual atmospheric conditions over landscapes bereft of humans. Lane was born and raised in the UK, lived and studied in New Zealand, now lives, and works in Berlin. She received a degree in illustration from Victoria University of Wellington in 1997.
