Description
Ruth Thomas-Edmond, Skim, 2008-09, acrylic on paper.
This series of paintings were done with a very small brush to cover the surface, so they capture a passage of time. They indicate mapping and recording of multiple landscapes and experiences, seen and sorted and later remembered. They hang like thought bubbles, shadows, glimpses or fragments.
Ruth Thomas-Edmond was born in Wellington in 1977. She studied at the University of Auckland Elam School of Fine Arts. Since completing her Masters degree in 2005, she has taught at Elam and the Manukau School of Visual Arts.
