acrylic on marine hoop pine
This work is from a series made in 2008 and 2009 that features new developments in Victor's image-making. The works have been cut into, drilled, scored and chiselled, lending texture as well as a painterly aspect to the process.
Rupture is made up of abstracted 3-D forms that express architecture, floor plans, aerial views of cityscapes, or factories. The colour palette is industrial yet with areas of optimistic lightness.
Victor Berezovsky was born in 1974. He studied at the School of Fine Arts, University of Canterbury. He lives in Wellington.
