Description
Artist Ruth Watson has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the USA. She received a BFA in Painting from the University of Canterbury (1984), a MVA from Sydney College of the Arts (1999) and a PhD in Fine Arts from the Australian National University, Canberra (2005).
Watson has a longstanding interest in games, specifically board games. She has often used game boards in her work and describes them as “a history of possibilities”. The boards serve as a metaphor for the decision making process in creating a painting or art work.
